Teg Tab – meeting seismic load capacity requirements
When you need to meet suspending ceiling seismic load capacity requirements, Teg Tab make life easier. Teg Tab’s revolutionary suspending ceiling installation system meets seismic design requirements and upholds functionality of the building during and after an earthquake.
Testing by industry leaders
To ensure that the Teg Tab system complies with requirements throughout New Zealand and Australia, the product underwent testing with Sinclair Knight Merz. Testing took place at USG’s Australasian manufacturing plant in Penrose, Auckland, where it underwent 18 direct tensile tests in the onsite tensile test rig.
The results stated that the Teg Tab system performed adequately for use in perimeter-fixed suspended ceilings as a method for providing seismic restraint. This is subject to the load capacity and limitations noted on the full test report with key points summarised in the Sinclair Mertz seismic integrity investigations.
